Weekend Breaks in Germany

The FIFA World Cup of 2006 was a fantastic advert for Germany, and showed how much this country has to offer.

Germany is home to some magnificent cities. Its capital, Berlin, steeped in history because of the events of the 20th century but also buzzing with energy and events like the annual Love Parade.

If you're interested in architecture, you will find plenty to keep you occupied in Germany. Fantastic  castles, palaces and gardens - and over 25 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Beer lovers will appreciate the many wine and beer festivals that take place between spring and autumn, including the world famous Oktoberfest which takes places in Munich.

Visitors to Germany often find that the cost of eating, drinking, and going out is substantially less than in the UK, so this is a great destination if you're on a budget.

Germany's natural landscape is staggering with fine spectacles such as the Black Forest and the dramatic view of the high Alps.

And best of all, Germany has friendly welcoming people, as demonstrated by the World Cup which was a great success for the host nation.
